Swervedriver is an English alternative rock band from United Kingdom. From Glasgow, Scotland, Terra Diablo plays rock/alternative/indie music and features Ian Fairclough (vocals/guitar), Dave Mcaulay (guitar/vocals), Stu Mileham (bass/samples) and Dave Cadler (drums/vocals). New York-based, shaggy haired rock tykes Longwave formed for a simple reason -- because it felt right. And with that sort of natural birth and organic attitude comes a sound that is relaxed, and yet emotional, classically simple and yet imbued with dark-edged introspection. Put simply, this is a band that makes music because they love music, and that's worth much more than any notion of stardom or the easy life.

With his grand musical scope and infamously wry-but-somber observations, esteemed singer/songwriter and producer Joe Henry has crafted the defiantly alluring Civillians, his tenth album. Soulful and warm, sparse and direct, the sophisticated bard has designed a career-defining record, one that will quickly become an obsession to those who lend an ear. Members, seniors, students $16; nonmembers, general admission $20.

We meet together on the first and third Monday of each month, and the second and fourth Tuesday of each month, to discuss, as friends, the ongoing changes in our lives. Some of us identify ourselves as gay, bisexual, or even "mostly straight," but most of us are leery of labels altogether. See our home page at www.bmmg.org. We have all been married. Most of us are currently married; some of us are separated or divorced, some contemplating divorce, some hoping for reconciliation. If prospective new members feel they are in a personal crisis, we try to offer a referral to sources of immediate help, such as the Fenway Community Health Center, Tel 617-927-6202, or the Brighton Allston Mental Health Center, Tel 617-787-1901. We are not equipped ourselves to do crisis intervention. We meet every first and third Monday and every second and fourth Tuesday. Meetings begin at 7:00 and end at 9:00. Continuing members pay $5 per month to cover rent and telephone expenses. For directions to our meeting see the home page or call 781-316-1985. We are a leaderless group. One man volunteers to act as facilitator each evening, but the various leadership roles and functions are shared by everyone
