He incorporates elements of rock, reggae, fado, tango, samba canao, baiao and rap, bringing his bossa-nova guitar stylings to each performance and making each song luminous, shimmering with poetics and insight. "… one of the greatest songwriters of the century … a singer whose voice radiates tenderness and supple swing … a musician who connects to traditional music, pop and jazz from all over." – The New York Times.
