Spring Theatreworks (Jeffrey Horne, Executive Director) presents ARDEN: THE LAMENTABLE TRAGEDIE OF A DUMBO REAL ESTATE MOGUL, adapted by Michelle Salerno & Jeffrey Horne from George Lillo’s 1739 play “Arden of Feversham” and directed by Michelle Salerno. Thomas Arden is owner of Arden Properties, a significant competitor in the sizzling DUMBO real estate market. Thanks to his strong political ties, Arden has just been given exclusive rights by the city to develop a hotly contested plot of land. However, even despite this substantial victory, Arden’s ego is bruised. He suspects that his wife Alicia, formerly renowned for her faithfulness, has been cheating on him with Mosby, a man far below her reputation. It is left up to the audience to decide where the true tragedy in this story lies. Is Alicia justified in her adultery given Arden’s mistreatment of her? Are the conspirators’ actions against Arden properly placed social justice and vigilantism? How long can one man’s power and control go unchecked? Performances will begin Thursday, April 19, 2007 at 8pm through May 12th at Spring’s Performance Loft in DUMBO, Brooklyn at 25 Jay Street (between Plymouth & John Sts; F to York Street, A/C to High Street). Admission is FREE, donations suggested. Reservations are strongly encouraged as seating is limited. Seats can be reserved by emailing name, performance choice and number of seats to arden@springtheatreworks.com. More information and production images can be found at Spring Theatreworks’ website at www.springtheatreworks.com.

Korrupt with FLOSSTRADAMUS And Pase Rock More Artists tba A DJ Still Can Save Your Life, we promise. In the midst of a transitional New York Scene, where long running underground parties have fallen out and reknown dance party venues like the Bunker are closing their doors, MeanRed Productions pushes through with Korrupt, a new party that happens irregularly. This is a dastardly good DJ crew from Chicago taking a stand on the stage at Hiro. Steal a few moments tucked down deep in the banquets with someone naughty, suck down some stiff drinks, shake shake shake.. Flosstradamus:: This dynamic DJ duo from Chicago is taking dancefloors by storm all over the Globe. With their 3 peat mix on repeat on ipods ALL over, heads bobbing and DJ’s scratching their heads. Find them gracing the cover of URB magazine this month, how did they get to the cover so fast?? They’re that good. Flosstradamus, the oft-mentioned Chicago DJ duo comprised of J2K (Josh Young) and Autobot (Curt Cameruci) have been dominating the party scene nationwide with their tag-team DJ sets (3 turntables, 2 mixers) for just over a year and show no signs of slowing down. Gathering vast influences from their respective backgrounds in punk and hip-hop, Flosstradamus brought normally divided crowds together with their unique mixes of Baltimore club, hip-hop, house, obscure remixes, and juke. A monthly party soon followed (“Get Outta The Hood”) at Chicago’s Town Hall Pub, and within a year Flosstradamus turned a stagnant bar into the proverbial place-to-be, lines stretching down the block while sweaty kids crowd surf and get down inside. Download their “3 Peat” Mix here: http://www.zshare.net/audio/3-peat-mix-mp3-hcq.html Brought to you by MeanRed, Good Peoples, Bijules, TasteNYC Sponsored by Beautiful Decay and Puma 10 bucks

Recent years have seen them play festivals in Europe and take on concert tours across North America where Rolling Stone magazine once dubbed them the best unsigned band in Europe. With their fifth and latest studio album, Into Your Heart, Hothouse Flowers are planning to steal their way into hearts everywhere.Event submitted by Eventful.com on behalf of worldcafelive.

Guartist Jason Isbell is from Muscle Shoals, Alabama, and was breaking into the studio scene there when Truckers frontman Patterson Hood came calling in the spring of 2002 following the departure of former guitarist Rob Malone. In a more traditional singer/songwriter vein, Will Hoge is a standout. More like Pete Yorn than John Mayer, Hoge's songs don't get mired in the maudlin. His major label debut is 'Blackbird On A Lonely Wire.' Frank McComb is a divine soul man who speaks with the native tongue of blues, jazz, gospel, pop and some hip hop.
