Uncle Earl isn't your run-of-the-mill band. First of all, they're all female. But these aren't the Spice Girls. Think Agent Scully meets Janeane Garofalo in Mayberry, with a shot of whiskey. Uncle Earl's exceptional mix of traditional fiddle tunes, mountain harmonies, original songs and authentic Appalachian clogging is transformed into what can only be described as "the Uncle Earl experience." The Biscuit Burners are an eclectic quartet blending traditional songwriting steeped in Appalachian roots with deft musicianship and harmonies. Members of the band have shared the stage with Vassar Clements, Leftover Salmon, Walker's Run, members of Acoustic Syndicate and other artists to name a few.

Since its inception in 1971, the Seldom Scene has thrived on playing bluegrass a little differently than everyone else. If other bands used a fiddler, the Seldom Scene used a Dobro; if others relied on old standards, the Seldom Scene played rock classics. Through skilled musicianship and an urban approach to bluegrass, the Seldom Scene has become one of the most influential bluegrass band of the last 30 years. It has been said that watching Valerie Smith perform is "like being an eye-witness to a thermonuclear explosion!" Her boundless energy and explosive delivery ensures that audiences are treated to unique and memorable performances every time.

Sean’s fifth and newest release, Flowering Spade (2007), marks the first time Hayes has ever recorded in a studio. Most of the album was recorded live in the studio with horns, accordion and marimba overdubbed. Hayes authored the entirety of Flowering Spade’s thirteen unique songs; they span different moods, tempos, and styles, making for quite a nice ride. Sean has recently been seen touring the US, UK and Europe – headlining, playing residencies, sharing co-bills or support slots and sometimes with frequent touring partner Jolie Holland. Following the release of Flowering Spade, Sean is hitting the road again – thankfully with his addictive, soulful groove and weathered, acoustic dance-ability in tow. This great vibraphonist first gained national fame with Herbie Mann and then went on to form his own band, 'Ubiquity,' which is an eclectic mix of funk, salsa, jazz, rock, soul and rap. Keyboardist Lonnie Liston Smith was the leader of the Cosmic Echoes in 1973 and at the forefront of the post-bop jazz era. More than any other singer, Jon Lucien captures the essence of romance. His voice is rich and expressive, his best songs are perceptive poetic tales of devotion, trust, hope, harmony and spirituality. Three dimensional parables of love lost and love found and relationships filled with the promise of a new day. He seems to possess an innate ability to evoke an atmosphere and create images not only through his lyrics but the colors of his music.

Marty Stuart is country music's renaissance man. He has scored six top-ten hits, one platinum and five gold albums and four Grammy Awards. But his success proves the difficulty of gauging a career in charts alone. He has made lasting music as a front man and in collaboration with virtually every major roots music figure of his era, from Lester Flatt to Bob Dylan. He has evangelized for country music around the world, eulogized the departed legends of the field and identified and encouraged talents of the future. Stuart has produced records for some of the most distinguished artists working today and many famous names have chosen to record his songs. Stuart's energetic enthusiasm has gone outside music, yielding impressive work as a photographer, writer, collector and arts executive.
