We continue our discovery of Spanish wines with this second session covering the south of Spain. Southern spain regions such as La Mancha, Vinos de Madrid, Valencia, Almansa or Malaga. You will taste 8 different wines from local varietals such as: Tempranillo, Garnacha, Cencibel, Airen. The South of Spain is also exciting as these varietals are being blended with international varietals and some daring wine makers are coming out of their local appellation system (such as the vinos sin ley project) to create new and luscious wines, in a similar fashion the Italian created the supertuscans 30 years ago. During the tasting, you will eat Spanish cheeses and crackers. At the end of the tasting, you will served a plate of Spanish tapas to finish the bottles. ZooLights Wednesdays–Sundays, November 28–December 30 6 to 8:30 p.m. This holiday season, FONZ will hold its biggest and brightest event ever—ZooLights, powered by Pepco. Beginning November 28, the Zoo will shine with thousands of environmentally friendly lights and animated exhibits for 25 nights. These larger-than-life displays will feature many of the Zoo’s most popular animals, all constructed of LED lights that use about 90 percent less energy than traditional incandescent light bulbs. ZooLights will also offer visitors the chance to make fun, winter-themed crafts and bird feeders, roast marshmallows, sample other tasty treats like hot chocolate, cookies, and cider, meet keepers in some of our exhibits, and learn about the Zoo's enrichment efforts. But that’s not all. Ice sculpting demonstrations, choral groups, and storytellers will also abound at ZooLights. You can also sponsor a light display or special area of the Zoo. Tickets will go on sale November 1.
