EMC1 is a fan-run multimedia convention held in Newark, New Jersey at the sumptuous Newark Airport Hilton the weekend of August 24-26, 2007. Sponsored by Light & Shadow Press, EMC1 was conceived to fill the gap left by the departure of EclectiCon. We are dedicated to serving the needs of both gen and slash media fans. The con atmosphere will be tolerant, inclusive, and open-minded and we welcome all fans who wish to participate in such an environment. Con Faculty: For over 30 combined years, our Con Committee Deans—Tiger Tyger, Kath Moonshine, Merlyn, and Glow— have participated in a diverse slate of fannish exercises including: editing and producing zines, composing award-winning fiction, crafting media artwork, panel moderation, planning and supporting numerous conventions, and presenting memorable performances in fannish theater and cabaret. These graduates from the University of Fandom, along with distinguished colleagues Sonia, Cyanne, Flamingo, Lorraine, and Lois, will bring their lengthy curriculum vitae to work for you at Eastern Media Con 2007.
