Sunday, March 23rd, 9:30 - 4:30 pm Instructor: Damini Celebre In the spirit of Zen Brushwork, we will create a meditative space while we grind the ink and allow ourselves to become a hollow vessel; allowing the energy of brush and ink to move us across the paper -- we will create a BrushWork painting. The BrushWork paintings are done in one movement with no alterations. In this class we will build on our brushwork skills previously learned in the Being the Brush introduction working with calligraphy and intention. This prepares us to Dance/Move/Paint with a Big Brush. Damini, previously a photographer who exhibited nationally and internationally until 1992, changed her career and now practices acupuncture and Chinese medicine. In 2005, she found a book called Zen Brushwork. The introduction was like reading an introduction in an Oriental medicinal text. Her two loves came together — the fine arts and the healing arts. Bring a pillow to sit on. The ink is permanent please wear dark or old clothes. This class has a 10 participates maximum. Being the Brush is a prerequisite. Fee: $108, material fee included. Registration and a $50 deposit is due by March 15th, 2008 Contact the artist. damini@brushheart.com or 610-405-5658 artist website : http://www.BrushHeart.com Located in Sherman Mills, East Falls, between Manayunk and Center City, convenient to the main line and the suburbs.
