The public is invited to an evening with Mary Oliver, best-selling author and winner of the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Award for poetry. Ms. Oliver will discuss and sign her new collection, "Thirst," at Art & Soul Café, located at downtown's Christ Church Cathedral, 13th and Olive Sts. The event is a joint presentation of Art & Soul Café and Left Bank Books. Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for students, and may be purchased in advance at Left Bank Books, 399 N. ‘CINEMANIA’ GOES ‘CINE-MUSICAL’ AS OSCAR-WINNERS ARE SHOWN ON FOUR SATURDAYS IN JULY Grand Center’s Outdoor Film Series - Back by Popular Demand Grand Center’s “Cinemania,” back for a second summer, offers audiences free outdoor viewing of Oscar Award-Winning musicals on a 20-foot blow-up screen. Grand Center, in collaboration with Cinema St. Louis, will present one movie each Saturday in July, beginning July 5 through July 26. Movies begin at 9:00 p.m. Movie-goers are invited to gather in the grassy lot located on Washington Ave., between Grand Blvd. and Spring Ave., across from the Pulitzer Museum and next to the Bruno David Gallery. Concession stands will be open throughout the evening offering refreshments, including popcorn, sweets and non-alcoholic beverages. Grand Center’s “Cinemania” Saturday movie line-up includes: • July 5: An American in Paris (1951) • July 12: Funny Girl (1968) • July 19: West Side Story (1961) • July 26: Moulin Rouge (2001) Low-back lawn chairs and blankets are recommended for seating. Ample parking will be available. Admission is free and open to the public.
