Alejandro Montiel, Kithara Duo The 18th Annual Immanuel & Helen Olshan Texas Music Festival, May 29th – June 30, 2007, is based at the University of Houston’s Moores School of Music. This festival features performances by the symphony orchestra every Saturday evening, Distinguished Artist performances every Tuesday evening (including the Texas Music Festival Jazz Project), and Chamber Orchestra performances on select Thursday evenings. In addition, recitals presented by the Guitar, Jazz, Piano, and Flute institutes. This summer the 2007 Texas Music Festival will present more concerts, more conductors, more ticket options, more music, and more fun!

Hailing from Massachusetts, Unearth unleashes charismatic riffs, thought-provoking lyrics and pummeling breakdowns resulting in one of the most abrasive, commanding and emotionally charged groups in the underground scene today. In the nearly 10 years since Darkest Hour formed, this group has molded itself into an extremely fierce band incorporating elements of death metal, thrash and punk. Suicide Silence are a death metal band from Riverside, California. August Burns Red is a technical metalcore group from Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The band formed in March of 2003 and quickly started playing shows around Lancaster.

The California punk trio Tiger Army came together in early 1996, opening for AFI and earning respect from other players and fans including Rancid frontman and Hellcat Records co-founder Tim Armstrong. With his interest, the band released their first album in 1999. Over the years Tiger Army has been on the rise, eventually making it to the VANS Warped Tour lineup starting in 2004. The latest is 'III: Ghost Tigers Rise.'

Never has photography offered so many creative possibilities. Digital cameras and imaging software afford seemingly endless possibilities for creative control. Designed for those with basic proficiency using a digital camera as well as basic computer navigation and operations skills, this computer lab course will help participants improve their digital photographs using Adobe® Photoshop software. Participants also will increase their knowledge of and proficiency with the digital camera and will improve their image-composition skills. Assignments and tutorials will be provided to reinforce class material and further develop skills. Participants must furnish a digital camera.
