The 5th Annual San Diego Arts Festival – the best ever in quality and variety—returns to the San Diego Convention Center, November 23 through 25. Now in its 5th year, the festival has become not only THE premier art and craft show in San Diego, but is also one of the top art festivals in the county; many of the artists who exhibit at such renowned events as the Sausalito Art Festival, the Cherry Creek Arts Festival in Denver, and the Ann Arbor Art Fairs, also exhibit at the San Diego American Arts Festival. The show is the ideal place to get a big start on your holiday shopping or to find that that perfect piece of art or craft for yourself or your home. The festival features 200 of America’s best contemporary craft and fine art exhibitors offering over 12,000 original works. Every category of fine art and contemporary craft - including paintings, drawings, sculpture, printmaking, photography, clothing, jewelry, pottery, wood, mixed media, glass, metal and stone - is thoroughly represented by a variety of exhibitors. Several artists will also be demonstrating how they make their unique items, giving attendees an up-close and fun experience. Chris regularly performs at Steamers the third Tuesday each month. He has received critical acclaim for his first album and has returned to the studio to begin recording his next album. Shonen Knife

Shonen Knife formed in 1981 in Osaka, Japan, when founding members Naoko Yamano, Atsuko Yamano and fellow office clerk Michie Nakatani decided they needed a distraction from desk life. They spent the next decade building a fervent international following, eventually taking to the road with Nirvana in 1991 and subsequently signing with Capitol Records. After a few major label releases, the girls moved back to the indie world and issued a steady stream of recordings from the late !90s into the new century. The group returns to the US with a new album 'Candy Rock,' which is already out in Japan.

The Fenians, an Orange County-based Irish quintet, fuse their Celtic sound with rock, folk, bluegrass and some jazzy world music leanings.
