Dead Rock West has just been confirmed on a national summer tour kicking off on June 15th in Portland, Oregon with indie rock god John Doe. The band will be performing double duty, opening the set as Dead Rock West in support of their new, critically acclaimed debut album Honey and Salt, as well as sitting in with Doe as his back up band. The tour will continue across the US in a 35-city tour ending in mid August 2007. Dead Rock West's sound has been described as "the jagged edge of country rock that brought such acclaim to Los Angeles legends X in the '80s," by the Houston Chronicle. Campus Circle calls it the "true evocative sound where John Doe and Exene Cervenka from X meet Gram Parsons and Emmylou Harris." There are hundreds of talented creative professionals working and creating some beautiful stuff, but you ask them to name some names at other companies they draw a blank. Our community, and design can only go so far in our isolated pockets. Let’s get together and start the conversation. I would like to invite you to the first Boulder Creative Commons. It will be an informal gathering of creatives of all types at my office in Boulder on Thursday, May 17th. 1035 Pearl St. 4th Floor. I will provide drinks and some snacks, but I really need help publicizing this. If you are, or know of any creative professionals in the Boulder area please let them know about it.

Naropa University Summer Writing Program Faculty Reading

All student and faculty readings will be held in the Performing Arts Center at Naropa University's Arapahoe Campus, 2130 Arapahoe Avenue in Boulder. Ticket prices for faculty readings are $6 for the general public, $4 for Naropa students/staff/alumni and free for SWP students registered for the week.
