Fusing music, poetry and her intoxicating gift for storytelling, wildly original spoken word artist Minton Sparks releases her latest triumph, Open Casket. Her debut live show DVD is yet another ground breaking performance that further proves Sparks is in a category all her own. Sparks peeks over the edge into the warm spot where most would prefer sleeping relatives lie. Open Casket is a raucous, provocative, brilliant one-woman show featuring Minton alongside world-class musicians: guitarist John Jackson, blues pianist Steve Conn, guitar and mandolin virtuoso Pat Flynn and special guest, Irish singing sensation, Maura O'Connell. In 2006, Sparks unique brand of poetry and music was featured nationally on the NPR's All Things Considered and internationally on the BBC's Bob Harris Show, along with the syndicated Woodsongs' Old Time Radio Hour. Sparks was thrilled to open for John Prine this year. She performed at the 2006 Americana music festival MerleFest, receiving a thunderous reception. This spring she wrapped up a four part Tennessee Performing Arts Series, Minton Sparks and Friends featuring Jessi Colter and Rodney Crowell, and played to sold-out houses and rave reviews each night.

Back in 2003, former Dispatch gutarist Chad Stokes set out to create a band with a unique sound and inspiring message. Stokes, along with Chuck Fay and Brian Sayers have ingrained the ideals of progressive politics with their infectious blend of rock, punk and reggae beats. Stokes has long remained true to his artistic ideals and political leanings. Raised in a free-spirited household with values grounded in equality and individuality, Stokes, lead singer and guitarist of State Radio, is a natural activist eager to spread his message through music. While growing up as part of a large musical family on a farm in the small town of Sherborn, MA, Stokes realized his goals stretched beyond local borders. After taking time off after high school to live in Zimbabwe, Stokes enrolled at Middlebury College in Vermont and along with two friends, formed his first band, Dispatch. Over eight years Dispatch became a phenomenon in the world of independent music and grassroots marketing and went on to sell over 400,000 copies of their independently released albums. State Radio features Chad Stokes of the band Dispatch.

In a music culture where bands dominate, Ben Lee is the youngest singer/songwriter to make an impression on Australian music. Even before his solo career, in his early teens, Lee came to attention as a member of Sydney band Noise Addict. Kate Voegele is recognized as one of the premier pop singer/songwriters in music today. With his heartfelt, melodic songs influenced by everything from '80s British New Wave to '70s folk, Nashville native Cary Brothers has achieved critical and commercial success with his independent releases "All The Rage" and "Waiting For Your Letter," both of which hit the top of the iTunes Folk charts.
