But things may not be what they seem when quarreling lovebirds encounter the clever creations of the mysterious Dr. Coppelius whose greatest desire is to create a doll with a soul. Featuring original choreography by Artistic Director Charles Maple, Coppelia is Maple Youth Ballet's full-length, romantic comedy ballet that transports audience members to a 19th century fairytale village, featuring sumptuous sets and opulent costumes by award-winning designer Jenny Tomich. This whimsical storybook ballet is a perfect family fare that all ages will enjoy. Watch as this unique Orange County experience unfolds, showcasing exceptional & talented dancers from across the Southland! Additional Audience Treat! Coppelia Ballet Workshop For Young Audiences Pili Doheny, Assist. Director, Maple Conservatory's Pre-Ballet Program Children ages 4-8 are invited to free, fun-filled, on-stage ballet workshop led by Pili Doheny, Assistant Director of Maple Conservatory's Pre-Ballet Program. This 20-minute workshop will immediately follow each performance in which Ms. Doheny will lead the children through ballet stretches and teach a dance from our Coppelia production.
