Where: High Noon Saloon

Date: 2008-04-04 21:30:00

9:30 PM / $12 cover / $10 advance / 18 and up Before even releasing a full-length album, Vampire Weekend managed to chart at #67 on Rolling Stone's top 100 songs of 2007 ("Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa," from their self-titled EP) while the New York times called them "one of the most impressive debuts of the year." Their rise is a textbook example of how the blogosphere can make stars overnight, and with the recent release of their eponymous debut album, their star figures to burn even brighter. The band mixes punk, new wave, and African pop music to create a very interesting, but catchy indie-rock melee. This might be the last time you can see them in a club setting, so don't miss it.
