The sweet smell of success is already familiar to California-based ALO. Now, the rapturous quartet is ready to bring it’s joyful musical message to a larger audience worldwide. Roses & Clover is the anticipated follow-up to the band’s acclaimed 2006 Brushfire release, Fly Between Falls. Bursting with sun-drenched melodies, ALO’s latest covers a wide range of musical territory; from the reggae-tinged “Try” to the Ukulele-led funk workout “Plastic Bubble.” Over the past two years, ALO have greatly expanded their fan base via constant touring and phenomenal word-of-mouth. Even Dave Matthews took notice of the funky foursome last year—asking the band to open up for DMB for several shows, including a special cruise ship concert. In addition, ALO toured Europe for the first time in 2006 with labelmate Jack Johnson.

SFDebate Political Discussion MeetupThe SF Debate Meetup is an open forum for discussion on the events of our time.We have three goalsUNDERSTAND OTHER POINTS OF VIEWWith so much news available to us, it is easy to fall into the trap of relying on sources that simply support and reinforce our own limited beliefs. The SF Debate Meetup is a chance for you to expand your perspectives and understanding. We believe that when opinions are discussed in public, extreme views are moderated and common ground is found.DEVELOP YOUR PERSUASIVE SKILLSIf you want to be able to convince others of your ideas; if you want to change the world we live in, SFdebate is the forum for you. Consider SFdebate to be a 'dojo' for persuasive speaking. It is a place where you will not only be exposed to opposing points of view, but a safe place where you will be encouraged to find and speak up for yours.DRUNKEN DEBATESFDebate is also meant to be fun. It is a meeting of minds, and we follow every meeting with drinks and a bite to eat at a local bar/restaurant.More info at http://www.sfdebate.org/This House would Invest more in Nuclear EnergyTuesday, June 26, 2007 at 7:00PMIs nuclear power the best way to meet the ever-increasing energy needs of the planet, or do alternative energy sources provide a viable alternative? In recent years this has been a hugely contentious debate. There is much public fear about nuclear energy, fuelled by accidents such as Chernobyl and Three Mile Island. It is, however, an issue which is becoming more important as we approach a time when fossil fuels are contributing to global warming, making it necessary to find other power sources. This debate therefore covers not just nuclear energy but also the alternatives of fossil fuels and renewable sources. It has to some extent, two strands of opposition. The arguments put forward by the fossil fuels lobby are distinctly different from those put forward by environmental groups. See the full event details, including location, at http://politicalcafe.meetup.com/50/calendar/5654982/.Check out what members are saying about SFDebate Political Discussion Meetup:"All around great group, simple as that." - Andy "great group. SHould invite more people to attend" - Red Prince "I recommend joining it!" - Alex Daoudi

Daniel is currently one of the most requested headliners in the country. He has also quickly evolved into one of the most popular and successful college acts, performing at more than seven hundred campuses. Daniel made his network debut on “The Late Show with David Letterman,” and has returned to perform several times since. Daniel has performed multiple times on “The Tonight Show” and also appeared on “The Late, Late Show,” “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” Last Call with Carson Daly,” “Premium Blend,” “Friday Night Stand-Up” on Comedy Central, as well as his own “Comedy Central Presents.” He has performed at many comedy festivals across the globe, including the Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal and HBO’s US Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen. Information Society (also known as InSoc) is a U.S. band originally from Minneapolis, Minnesota, primarily consisting of Kurt Larson (aka Kurt Valaquen/Kurt Harland), Paul Robb, and James Cassidy; the latter two reconvened the band in 2006 with Harland rejoining them in 2007. The Tell Tale Heartbreakers emerged from the Bay Area underground music scene in 2004. Over the course of one year, they sculpted their own sound, tearing through the post-punk music scene with tense, guitar and bass-driven songs that reflect the darker side of rock and roll. Spellbound is Siouxsie and the Banshees tribute band.
