The Angel Band performs works by Turlough O'Carolan, Ireland's national composer, as well as a variety of lively traditional Irish tunes and more contemporary Celtic pieces. Singer/songwriter and guitarist Peter Rowan has been associated with the most influential traditional and progressive bluegrass groups of the 20th century, including Bill Monroe's Bluegrass Boys, Earth Opera Sea Train, Muleskinner, and Old & In The Way. Tony Rice, the original guitarist of the David Grisman Quintet, is known as one of the most innovative flat-picked guitar players in the last 25 years. Together, they cover everything from straight-ahead bluegrass to jazz-influenced new acoustic music.
