The Toxic Terror Tour Featuring Twiztid from Psychopathic Records. Protégés of the Insane Clown Posse, the Detroit-area rap duo Twiztid based their act on a similarly theatrical, outrageous, makeup-heavy image and an obsession with serial-killer horror films. Jamie Madrox and the Monoxide Child cast themselves as psychotic axe murderers on their 1998 debut album, Mostasteless, which was reissued with new artwork and extra tracks a year later in the wake of ICP's rise to national notoriety. Twiztid's second album, Freek Show, was released on Halloween 2000 in conjunction with ICP's Bizzar/Bizaar sets; Mirror Mirror followed two years later. The Green Book hit the shelves in 2003 with Man's Myth, Vol. 1 landing in 2005. The duo toured extensively throughout the States in the early 2000s, developing a small cult following throughout the Midwest in particular. Lez Zeppelin, the New York City-based all-girl, all-Zeppelin quartet, is set to release its self-titled debut album on July 10, 2007, with a nationwide and European tour planned in support of the new record. Since forming in 2004, Lez Zeppelin has gained unanimous critical acclaim as one of the most exciting live acts around, becoming the first female rock act to pay homage to Led Zeppelin and to garner rave reviews across the board. The album was recorded with legendary producer/engineer Eddie Kramer, best known for his work with Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, and KISS; and was mastered by George Marino, who with Jimmy Page digitally remastered all of the original Led Zeppelin recordings. The album, released on Emanation Records, will be distributed by Redeye Distribution. Lez Zeppelin stays true to the musically audacious spirit of the original, delivering the legendary rock band's blistering arrangements and monstrous sound note-for-note at sold-out shows across the country. The thing that sets them apart, however, is the seamless and unique way Lez Zeppelin inject their gender-bending performance into the original material.

Running alongside (and occasionally eclipsing) the singular path taken by her beloved group Throwing Muses, Kristin Hersh's solo career has revealed several new facets to this prolific talent. Her acoustic debut, Hips And Makers, was released in early 1994. Co-produced by Patti Smith guitarist Lenny Kaye, the album's quiet intensity and articulate songcraft proved a potent combination, and it outsold all of the Muses' back catalogue - thanks in part to the hit single "Your Ghost", a cello-laden duet with REM's Michael Stipe. Her latest release is Learn to Sing Like a Star, a spacious, sumptuous record with emphatic energy, stripped ballads, deceptively breezy upbeat numbers and dreamy tunes.
