An Inspiring Evening with Michio Kushi Tues., May 22, 7 p.m. In this special evening, teacher and author Michio Kushi, founder of the world-renowned Kushi Institute in Massachusetts, is interviewed about his life and career. At 80 years young, Kushi is the embodiment of the macrobiotic lifestyle he developed. The macrobiotic diet calls for more whole grains, beans, and fresh vegetables. Kushi was convinced that food was the key to health and health was the key to world peace. After relocating to Boston, he established the Kushi Institute in 1978, a leading macrobiotic educational center. Since then Kushi has established many Macrobiotic Congresses, met with leaders in many countries, is a prolific author, and lectures widely.
