The Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA) and the Cultural Services of the French Consulate in Boston present the Boston premiere of Zidane, a 21st-Century Portrait (2006) by Douglas Gordon and Philippe Parreno. The film, which debuted at the 2006 Cannes Film Festival to great acclaim, depicts legendary soccer player Zinedine Zidane on the field, a mesmerizing portrait of an artist at work. Hailed as “one of the year’s essential cinema experiences,” (Time Out), Zidane, a 21st-Century Portrait is a unique hybrid of art work and sports documentary. Screenings on Sunday, May 6, at 11 am and Thursday, May 10, at 7 pm. 35mm. Tickets are $10; $8 ICA members, students, and seniors, and can be purchased at icaboston.org, from the ICA box office, by phone at (617) 478-3103 during regular museum hours, or at the box office one hour before program. Seventeen synchronized cameras follow Zidane through a randomly selected match between Real Madrid and Villarreal in 2005. Under the supervision of famed cinematographer Darius Khondji, the cameras capture a range of views, from close-ups of Zidane’s face to panoramas of the entire stadium. The film also features voiceovers by Zidane himself, recounting memories from his matches, and a score by Scottish rock band Mogwai. Zidane is considered one of the top soccer players of all time, known as much for his elegance as his bizarre head-butt to the chest of Italy's Marco Materazzi in the 2006 World Cup final. His career highlights include winning the World Cup Championship in 1998, the Tournament Euro in 2000, and the Champions League in 2000. In 2001, he became the most expensive player in soccer history when Real Madrid acquired him for $66 million. Zidane, a 21st-Century Portrait is the feature directorial debut for both Douglas Gordon and Philippe Parreno. Glaswegian Douglas Gordon is an acclaimed artist and winner of the Turner Prize, the prize for Best Artist at the Venice Biennale, and the Hugo Boss Prize. Frenchman Philippe Parreno has had work shown at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Kunstverein in Zurich, and the Paris Museum of Modern Art. ABOUT THE ICA/BOSTON The Institute of Contemporary Art, located at 100 Northern Avenue, is open Tuesday and Wednesday, 10 am – 5 pm; Thursday and Friday, 10 am – 9 pm; and Saturday and Sunday, 10 am – 5 pm. Admission is $12 adults, $10 college students and seniors, and free for members and children 17 and under. For more information, call (617) 478-3100, or visit www.icaboston.org.

Jewish Funds for Justice invites you to celebrate and honor * Dr. Deborah A. Frank * Nancy K. Kaufman And recognizing the leadership of women in rebuilding the Gulf Region $200 per person Cocktails and buffet dinner Business attire Dietary laws observed The Women of Valor Award celebrates the achievements of outstanding Jewish women who lead through their activism, accomplishments, philanthropy and commitment to social justice. This year we dedicate part of the evening to honoring the leadership of women in rebuilding after the destruction of Hurricane Katrina. Now, nearly two years after the hurricanes, the region remains devastated. Without the continued dedication, neighborhoods would remain shuttered and lives shattered. Individual acts of courage and leadership have begun to mend the area. Dr. Deborah A. Frank was born in Washington, DC and graduated from Radcliffe College Summa Cum Laude in 1970 and from Harvard Medical School in 1976. In 1981, she founded the Failure to Thrive Program at Boston City Hospital (now Boston Medical Center); this program, now called the Grow Clinic for Children, is a national model for treating FTT. Dr. Frank has served on committees and advisory boards including the Mayor's Hunger Commission, the Massachusetts Child Hunger Initiative, and the Physicians Task Force on Childhood Hunger in Massachusetts. She has testified before Congress regarding food assistance programs and the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program. Dr. Frank has received the Children's Champion Award from the US Committee of UNICEF, the U.S. Mayor's End Hunger Award, the Massachusetts Nutrition Board of Excellence, the Boston Visiting Nurse Association Home Health Care Partnership Award, the Roxbury Comprehensive Community Health Center We Take Your Health to Heart Award, Rosie's Place Share Your Heart Award, Big Sister's Achievement Award, the Woman Leader Award, and the Exceptional Women Award, and the City of Boston's Standing Ovation Award. She is married to Rabbi Neil Kominsky and has two stepchildren, Rabbi David Kominsky and Dr. Daniel Kominsky, and a son, Jonathan Kominsky. Nancy K. Kaufman has been the Executive Director of Boston's JCRC since 1990. Prior to that, she served as Deputy Commissioner of Department of Public Welfare and Assistant Secretary of Health and Human Services for Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Ms. Kaufman holds degrees from Brandeis (BA), Boston College (MSW), Harvard's Kennedy School (MPA) and, in 2001, was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Public Service from Northeastern University. She has been the recipient of awards including Distinguished Alumni Award from Brandeis University, Greatest Contribution to Social Policy and Social Change Award from National Association of Social Workers, Women's American ORT Woman of the Year Award. Ms. Kaufman was an Israel Bonds honoree and was inducted into the Boston YWCA's Academy of Women Achievers in 2003. She was also included as one of the Jewish Forward's top fifty leaders in Fall 2000 and in Fall 2006, and has served on the boards of the Urban League of Massachusetts, Cohen Hillel Academy, Jewish Organizing Initiative, United Way Faith and Action Committee, among others.

We meet together on the first and third Monday of each month, and the second and fourth Tuesday of each month, to discuss, as friends, the ongoing changes in our lives. Some of us identify ourselves as gay, bisexual, or even "mostly straight," but most of us are leery of labels altogether. See our home page at www.bmmg.org. We have all been married. Most of us are currently married; some of us are separated or divorced, some contemplating divorce, some hoping for reconciliation. If prospective new members feel they are in a personal crisis, we try to offer a referral to sources of immediate help, such as the Fenway Community Health Center, Tel 617-927-6202, or the Brighton Allston Mental Health Center, Tel 617-787-1901. We are not equipped ourselves to do crisis intervention. We meet every first and third Monday and every second and fourth Tuesday. Meetings begin at 7:00 and end at 9:00. Continuing members pay $5 per month to cover rent and telephone expenses. For directions to our meeting see the home page or call 781-316-1985. We are a leaderless group. One man volunteers to act as facilitator each evening, but the various leadership roles and functions are shared by everyone
