Soilwork is a unique brand of coalesced Swedish metal. Formed in 1997 the band (originally called Inferior Breed) would become more than well-known within the Melodic Death scene, especially in Germany. Crafting dangerous melodies, adding layers of atmospheric texture and unconventional uses of keyboards set the band apart. Some of their releases include 'A Predator's Portrait,' 'Chainheart Machine' and 'Steelbath Suicide.'

The hardcore punk, five-piece band the Dillinger Escape Plan formed in 1997 as an act against typical pop music and with an aim to redefine punk. Formed in 1988, Buffalo's Every Time I Die resurrects real rock 'n' roll.
