Editors

Where: Vic Theater

Date: 2008-01-25 19:30:00

Type:

Like the sound in groups like Bloc Party and Interpol, Editors filter much of yesteryear's true post-punk (think Joy Division) through today's reality-TV prism. Editors are riding high on the singles 'Munich,' 'Bullets' and 'Blood.' Hot Hot Heat is an indie rock band from Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. San Diego's Louis XIV formed with much of the lineup as the rootsy, alt-rocking band Convoy, which issued an album called 'Black Licorice' in 2001. Vocalist/guitarists Jason Hill and Brian Karscig and drummer Mark Maigaard hooked up with bassist Jimmy Armbrust and began fleshing out Louis XIV, whose sound is built on irreverent, oversexed lyrics and songwriting that channels glam, scratchy punk and vintage Rolling Stones.
