Pittsburgh-born artist Philip Pearlstein was a pioneer of Realism in painting in the late 1950s, when Abstract Expressionism dominated the art world. Then as now, the artist renders the classical theme of the Nude in contemporary terms. A celebratory exhibition at Michael Berger Gallery coincides with Pearlstein's 2007 History Makers Award in Arts & Letters from the Senator John Heinz Pittsburgh Regional History Center. Join the artist at Michael Berger Gallery for a champagne reception in his honor on April 28 from 2-4 p.m. The exhibition runs from April 20 through June 30, 2007 at MBG, 415 Gettysburg St. in Point Breeze.
