Playing since the mid-'80s, Orange County punk veterans the Vandals injected terminally juvenile humor and catchy punk-pop into their sound, paving the way for bands like the Offspring, blink-182, and Less Than Jake. It wasn't until the '90s that the group found acclaim, starting with 1991s 'Fear of a Punk Planet,' and continuing with their recent effort, 'Hollywood Potato Chip.'

See the women who grace the burlesque stage in costume at their oftentimes unglamorous day jobs in the photographic portrait series “Night and Day: Burlesque in the Workplace” by Dale Rio. “Night and Day” explores the dichotomy between the glamour of burlesque performers’ personas and the reality of their day-to-day lives. Most of today’s burlesque performers don’t earn a living from it. They do it for the love of performing, to perpetuate an art form that they admire, and to be part of a community of like-minded women. This is a free event! Stop by Babeland at 707 E. Pike St. on Capitol Hill, call 206-328-2914 or visit http://www.babeland.com/events for more info. Singles and couples of every gender and sexual orientation are invited to attend our workshops and events (18+ only). ASL available upon request-email audrey@babeland.com to make arrangements.
