Children come into this world bearing the wisdom gained in lifetimes lived before and the memory of God breathing life into them once again. Their greatest gift to us is to open our eyes to the unlimited potential and purity of the universe. Our greatest gift to them is to overcome our controlling need to shape them in our image. The spiritual practice of parenting seeks to create a safe, loving and supportive environment where these young beings can grow in conscious partnership with their Divine intention. When we learn to parent in this way, our homes are defined by love, authenticity and meaning. Come learn this practice, sourced in our rabbinic and mystical tradition, and find new joy and purpose in your relationships with your children.

Welcome to Ozomatli. Version 12.0 Rested, revived, and ready for the next level. On the surface, nothing's changed. There's the same core line-up, the same oppositional politics, the same live shows that erupt into drum-line blessed community parties, and the same devotion to polyglot urban sound clashing. But here's what's new: after 12 years of collaborative song-writing, 12 years of constant touring everywhere from Denver to Tokyo to Sydney, 12 years of supporting anti-war mobilizations and global human rights movements, 12 years of pioneering Spanish-English mash-ups of hip hop, salsa, cumbia, dub, and Middle Eastern funk, and most importantly, 12 years of facing up to internal battles and personal struggles, they've emerged anew with their fourth full-length studio album, Don't Mess With The Dragon, the band's most cohesive, polished, and joyous record to date.

About Liquid Swords: Though the album was credited to GZA alone, there are numerous guest appearances from the entire Wu-Tang Clan, like all their earlier solo albums. Liquid Swords is characteristic of the Wu-Tang Clan in its minimalist, menacing and ominous beats by producer RZA, and its cinematic themes relating to Asian cinema, particularly Samurai cinema. GZA also covers many of his other themes as well, such as chess, crime etc. The album begins with a monologue from a little boy; his monologue, and many of the other skits scattered throughout the album, are from the cult film Shogun Assassin. These samples, along with eerie beats gives Liquid Swords a distinctive, creepy, unsettling sound, proving influential to many subsequent East Coast hip hop artists. text GZA2 to 467467 to get your tickets VIA ShopText or click http://knittingfactory.com/show.php?event_id=108383 for ticketweb info

A live reading and signing from "Since My Last Confession," a funny, irreverent faith journey by a gay Catholic pursuing his Archbishop in the style of Michael Moore’s Roger & Me that answers the perennial question, “What’s a Nice Gay Catholic Part-time Porn Writer Doing in a Nasty Church Like This?” Scott Pomfret, a practicing Catholic in a long-term committed gay relationship with a hardcore atheist, tries to reconcile his faith with the Catholic hierarchy’s bitter attacks on gay marriage, gay adoption, gay seminarians, Capri pants, innate style, and anything else remotely homosexual. Convinced that a meeting with the Archbishop would foster homo-Catholic rapprochement and world peace, Pomfret pursues the prelate from pulpit to Chancery to state funeral -- and runs into a host of motorcycle lesbians, gay priests, flaming friars, pious prelates, would-be Opus Dei monks, a radically atheistic boyfriend, dozens of Irish women named Mary, and angry orthodox bloggers along the way. Addressing topics ranging from a firsthand account of a 1970s SWAT team raid of a gay Mass to “Ten Ways to Recognize a Gay Catholic” to Harry Potter’s Satanism, Confession is one man’s personal experience of wrestling with faith, doubt, sex, love, and priestly undergarments.
