ABOUT RIVERSWEEP RiverSweep is Ohio Canal Corridor's 18th Annual, environmental awareness and clean-up initiative developed by Ohio Canal Corridor. The event partners multiple non-profit organizations with private companies to clean areas along the Cuyahoga River Valley and its tributaries. RiverSweep is a "done in a day" event where volunteers gather at one of seven designated areas: RiverSweep stands out as Northeast Ohio's most successful environmental clean-up with teams of environmentally aware volunteers, community groups, non-profit organizations, government agencies and corporate partners clearing the river valleys of debris. RiverSweep cleans today, where tomorrow we will play. It has established a tradition of cleaning areas where new parks and extended trails will be built one day. Examples of the new parks include Ohio Canal Corridor's Hart Crane Park in the Flats, Cleveland Metroparks Ohio & Erie Canal Reservation, Mill Creek Falls, and Washington Park Reservation. In process are the West Creek Greenway, Treadway Ravine in Cleveland, Walworth Run (Train Avenue), the extending Towpath Trail from lower Harvard Avenue through Tremont to Canal Basin Park in the northern Flats For more information, call Tanya at 216-520-1825 or e-mail tstella@ohiocanal.org.

Since 1996 and the release of their debut album 'Apocalyptica Plays Metallica By Four Cellos', Apocalyptica - graduates of the prestigious Sibelius Academy in Finland - have been developing a style that is tough to put a name to... 'Heavy Cello Mayhem'? 'Rock'n' Resin'?!... The possibilities are vast, but whatever the latest tag, the fact remains that never before had a group of classically-trained cellists, metal fans to a man, attempted to fuse together the seemingly disparate worlds of classical music & hard rock...of Prokofiev & Pantera... Shostakovich & Slayer... to seek out the middle ground between the mosh pit & the orchestra pit, the dinner jacket & the denim jacket, whilst being 100 per cent respectful to both camps.

Originally disbanding in 2000, Nash Kato, Blackie Onassis and Eddie "King" Roesser reunited for shows in late 2003 On its new self-titled EP, Suffrajett incorporates rock jams, heavy funk basslines and aggressive rhythms with leadsinger/power girl Simi providing searing vocals.

Written by Rob Becker and performed by a network of talented actors nationwide, 'Defending the Caveman' is a one man comedy performance that examines the battle of the sexes and how men and women struggle to understand one another. Becker traces conflict between the sexes back to the era of the caveman and, in so doing, reveals that these differences can actually be used to build bridges to cross the gender gap.
