Elliott Carter, dean of American high modernism, has crafted a body of music that is matchless in its intense, razor-sharp complexity, shimmering instrumental colors and radical counterpoint. Works of his chamber music will be played by Erika Duke-Kirkpatrick, April Guthrie, David Johnson, Mark Menzies, Kathryn Pisaro, William Powell, and Rachel Rudich.

First formed in Chico, California, all the way back in 1991, The Mother Hips built a following the old-fashioned way, touring constantly and letting word-of-mouth do the talking. New Monsoon combines the rhythmic elements of world percussion with energetic acoustic and electric guitar work and a highly original vocal style. The infectious grooves are powered by Afro-Cuban and Indian percussion and often textured by the Australian didgeridoo. Daniel Brummel is the singer and bass guitarist for the band Ozma.
