Napa Downtown Presents Winning Wines 2007

Where: Napa Downtown

Date: 2007-09-01 00:00:00

Type:

In a tip of the glass to California Wine Month and to offer one more way for visitors to enjoy its bounty of wine-tasting venues, Napa Downtown, CA is hosting Winning Wines 2007, the Napa Valley's newest wine-tasting program. What makes this program unique is that the wine tasters get to pick the wine winners rather than tasting wines that others have deemed the cream of the crop. From September 1 through September 30, 2007, visitors to selected tasting rooms in the downtown area can vote to select a winning Chardonnay and Cabernet from a pre-selected group of fine Napa Valley wines. Each of the 13 participating wine tasting rooms will select four wines for its patrons to taste. The categories for the wines that will be tasted and ranked: Chardonnay wines that sell for below $20 and above $20 at the retail level, and Cabernet wines that retail for under and above $30. For a list of Napa Downtown's wine tasting rooms and tasting hours, go to http://www.napadowntown.com/wine_tasting.napa. The winning wines will be announced at a special celebration and award ceremony at COPIA on October 20, 2007. http://www.copia.org Participating in the Winning Wines 2007 program is simple, especially with the purchase of a Taste of Napa Downtown Wine Card for just $20. It is available through the Napa Downtown web site http://napadowntown.com/wine_card.napa at any of the ten participating tasting rooms, the Napa Chamber of Commerce, and the Napa Conference and Visitors Bureau. For more information about Winning Wines 2007 and other events sponsored by the Downtown Napa Association, visit http://www.NapaDowntown.com, or call 707-257-0322. ABOUT NAPA DOWNTOWN ASSOCIATION The Napa Downtown Association was founded in 1971.
