Atsui [aht `su EE] - 1. The Japanese word for 'hot'. 2. The perfect way to describe Houston, Texas. Hello and welcome to the newest anime convention to hit Houston, Texas. This project has been over twenty years in the making. And trust us, it will be worth the wait. AtsuiCon is brought to you by the one and only DJ Laen; the creator of the great Sailor Moon Dance Remix of 1997. AtsuiCon will be different than other conventions that you may be used to. First of all, you can expect lower prices everywhere you look. Starting from the cost of registration to the comic market tables. We believe that anime conventions doesn't have to be expencive. A con attendent shouldn't have to spend all of their money on a hotel room and con badges. Dealers shouldn't pay almost a thousand dollars for a nice booth to sell their wares. And a hotel room shouldn't cost and arm and a leg. To do this, we are limiting our advertising to simple word of mouth and a few flyers here and there. And, as a non-profit organization, we will take any and all profit and put it back into the convention for the next year. This convention belongs to Houston. It's up to all of us, staff and guests, to make this convention better than any other in Texas... or the US. Even if the prices are low, you will still get a quality convention at a beautiful spacious hotel. We want to have a convention Houston can be proud of.
