Phoenix Objectivists 1st July meeting

Where: China Village

Date: 2007-07-12 18:30:00

Type:

For our first July meeting, our guest speaker will be Joe Cobb, who will discuss the Objectivist perspective on the abortion issue. Rand looked at the abortion issue, not only as a woman's right to choose, but in the context that a fetus is not a human being, only a potential human being, and rights cannot be applied to it. In his talk, Joe will address the question of when human rights apply, in what circumstances, and how they are recognized. For example, how is abortion morally different from infanticide. NOTE: Please be aware that I promised the manager of the restaurant that everyone would buy something to eat in order for our group to use their banquet room for our meetings. His deal is: "each person buys something to eat or the group pays a $10 charge."
