L A Hardy is from…well, Los Angeles. This naturally funny comedian’s approach to comedy is through stories and social commentary. He looks at life by stepping outside the situation and when people ask “Why me?” – LA says “Why Not You?” with a dose of sarcasm. L A is one of those comedians that keeps you laughing all night and when you leave, you’ll want to come back for more. Don’t miss this comedian whose stellar performances have been seen on BET’s “Comic View,” FOX TV’s “Random acts of Comedy,” and “Fox Kids Network,” as well as ABC’s hit sit-com “According to Jim.” His movie credits include “Jackie Brown” directed by Quentin Tarantino, and “Breast Men” on HBO. Don’t miss the return of this hilarious jokester this week at the Comedy Showcase!! SHOWTIMES: 8:00 & 10:30 pm TICKETS: $10 in advance, $12 at the door

Jeff Havens

Where: Ann Arbor Comedy Showcase

He began writing at the age of thirteen, and completed his first novel (a fantasy) in only three short months. A miraculous rate of creation, you might think, until you realize that it was a terrible book that its author will never let anybody read. However, fifteen years of practice and perseverance has improved Jeff’s writing considerably. His first novel, “Reality,” was published by Academy Chicago Publishers to critical acclaim in 2006. He has written five other novels, two satirical ‘self-help’ books including “Nine Easy Ways to Uncrapify Your Life!,” one book of poetry, a children's play, and dozens of short stories. Jeff is confident that some of them will eventually be published, and others will die in obscurity where they belong. Now, in 2008, Jeff has been a full-time comedian and professional speaker for several years. He’s performed for audiences in over 30 states and parts of Canada, and so far he hasn’t been banned from returning to any of them. What’s next for Jeff? Perhaps a run at the presidency, although he’ll have to wait until he’s 35. But for now, Jeff is happy where he is. SHOWTIMES: 8:00 & 10:30pm TICKETS: $8 in advance, $10 at the door
