Steve Sabo

Where: Ann Arbor Comedy Showcase

Date: 2007-06-08 20:00:00

Type:

No props. No guitar. No magic tricks. No juggling balls. No Ventriloquism. No funny voices OR silly songs... Just a man and a microphone -- with ATTITUDE to spare! STEVE has been described as a “dark light at the end of an even darker tunnel” and a “mental workout” by both fans and critics alike. He is one of a new breed of comics that “take no prisoners.” His honest and aggressive form of monology always leaves the audiences salivating for more... Agree or disagree ...you will ALWAYS remember STEVE SABO! A veteran of the club circuit for over 12 years, STEVE has woven an intricate web of humor that has garnered him thousands of fans from coast-to-coast. His razor-sharp wit will grab you by the throat and won’t let go until you are blue-in-the-face with laughter -- and gasping for more! STEVE IS the caffeinated voice of reason in a world devoid of reasons to laugh. He tackles the difficult subjects with agility and aplomb without walking the delicate line of race, religion or politics. He speaks from the gut (and his heart) with an honesty rarely seen in this modern world. Showtimes: 8:00 & 10:30pm Tickets: $8 in advance, $10 at the door Friday & Saturday 8pm shows are all non-smoking

Dobie Maxwell

Where: Ann Arbor Comedy Showcase

Date: 2007-07-28 20:00:00

Type:

Few comedians working today have the experience of DOBIE MAXWELL. He has been working since 1985 and has appeared in all 48 lower United States and all across Canada. He has worked most major clubs, and has shared a stage with some of the top comics in the country including Jay Leno, Jerry Seinfeld, Drew Carey, Rosie O'Donnell, Tim Allen, George Carlin and many others. Unique is the best way to describe DOBIE MAXWELL. His life and comedy are not like most others. Milwaukee is the city where both Harley Davidson motorcycles and Dobie were born. Dobie's parents rode with a biker gang there and abandoned him as a baby. He was raised by his paternal grandparents, and it was his Grandfather who gave him his now famous nickname Mr. Lucky. Nobody has the timing of DOBIE MAXWELL. He always seems to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. It's very funny...if you're not HIM. He sums it up best. 'When I was nine I went to see the Harlem Globetrotters. They lost.' One situation after another make for big laughs. Dobie has appeared on the Oprah Winfrey show, Entertainment Tonight and even hosted his own show for two years in his hometown of Milwaukee . He has spent time as a morning radio host, co-host and regular guest on stations in Chicago, Reno, Milwaukee, Lansing, Tucson, Salt Lake City and been a featured guest on radio stations and in printed publications worldwide. Don’t miss this high energy comic who is fast becoming one of our all time favorites. Showtimes: 8:00 & 10:30 pm Tickets: $8 in advance, $10 at the door

Rick’s other television credits include NBC's Friday Night Videos, BET Comic View and Showtime's Latino Laugh Festival. HBO unit laughs with Gutierrez. Comedian Rick Gutierrez has inked a deal with HBO Independent Prods. to develop and star in a comedy series project for the company. Based on his stand-up routine, the show, now in early stages of development, is described as a comedic look at Gutierrez's old-school views on marriage and family.
