Blogger's Delight is a free party every Monday at the Knitting Factory. Each party, a new blog curates the night and invites bands and DJs they love to play. Get ready to get psyched! NUMERO# Myspace French singer/songwriter Jérôme Rocipon and electronic producer Pierre Crube are the duo behind Montreal-based Numéro#. Each month will be devote to a given theme, and 4 or 5 speakers will address some aspect of that them, using visual aids of one stripe or another. Speakers will include writers, editors, storytellers, and amateur scholars discussing some area of their expertise. Tonight's program is MICRO-GENRE. On YouTube, there are scores of toddler's expressions after sucking on lemons. Entire groups of flickr photos are organized around photos of people wearing sweatshirts, photos of painted trains, photos of body hair. You could fill a small bookshelf with fake children's memoirs. In this show, we discuss several examples of what we're calling "micro-genres." Formed in 2004, Standard of Living is a quintet from Buffalo, New York featuring Josh Rabenold, Ken Stiver, Dan Reedy, Mike Lindstrom and Clayton Cobb. Ben Jelen plays an intriguing blend of rock, country and hip hop. Brett Harriss is a singer/songwriter who splits time between Connecticut and New York City.
