Roof Terrace Restaurant is partnering with Susie Selby and Selby Winery to present a special wine dinner featuring a rustic, yet refined, menu paired with some of the winery’s top notch vintages from Sonoma County. While gazing at the city’s most spectacular view of the Washington, DC skyline, guests will feast on Chef de Cuisine Karen Hayes’ specially crafted prix-fixe menu with dessert created by Pastry Chef Bruce Connell. Selby, the owner and the winemaker, is flying in from the California wine country to discuss with guests the tasting notes of each wine and explain how the distinct flavors complement the innovative combinations of Chef Hayes’ dishes. Chef Hayes will also be on hand to talk about the inspiration behind the menu and answer patrons’ questions. The wine dinner is priced at $125 per guest, exclusive of tax and gratuity. Reservations are required and can be made by calling 202-416-8555. Selby Winery, located in the Russian River Valley of Northern California, was established by Susie Selby in 1993. Selby now produces approximately fifteen thousand cases per year and prides herself on picking, fermenting, processing and bottling by hand. She favors traditional principles of winemaking that yield elegant and sophisticated wines. Throughout the years, Selby wines have received a 90-plus rating from Wine Spectator and have won numerous gold, silver and bronze medals from the Sonoma County Harvest Fair.
