Juan Estoban, who combines his two names into Juanes, combined the traditional elements of his native Colombian folk music into alternative musical setting and the results have earned him worldwide fame and three Latin Grammy Awards. Juanes uses the music of South America as a framework for his unique sound. Accordions, violins and cellos don't sound out of place, particularly when accompanied by a guitar, a Hammond organ and an insistent beat.
