Rated R: Language, violence, gruesome images and sexual content RT: 2:03 Forest Whitaker delivers a ferociously commanding performance as bloodthirsty Ugandan president Idi Amin in Kevin MacDonald’s THE LAST KING OF SCOTLAND. Adapted from the novel by Giles Foden, the film recounts Amin’s horrific reign through the eyes of a fictional character, Nick Garrigan (James McAvoy), a young doctor from Scotland who travels to Uganda hoping to do some good. MacDonald working with cinematographer Anthony Dod Mantle brings 1970s Uganda to pulsating life, perfectly recreating that tumultuous era. But ultimately the film belongs to Whitaker: as he shifts from charming to maniacal in the space of a short, unexpected breath, he infuses Amin with startling humanity.

South London's Jamie T (born Jamie Treays) set the UK charts ablaze with his insanely brilliant album, 'Panic Prevention.' Earlier in 2007 he performed at Austin's SXSW festival, giving US ears a dose of his catchy, rhythmic spoken tomes on life, love, loss and nights of too much drinking. Canvas Magazine described him as "like the bastard lovechild of Billy Bragg and Mike Skinner doing his best Joe Strummer impression."

Chicago's Bound Stems come from different backgrounds, playing pop music founded on secretly complicated rhythmic structures. Male vocals and female harmonies build narratives off scenes summoned by the instruments and by a library of stolen sounds that emigrated to their songs: grandmas, crafty cabbies, trains, party laughter, turnstiles, storytellers and a fieldsworth of crickets. It's approachable music; it sounds like they knocked themselves out, which they did, and it also sounds like a pleasure to dive headfirst into. Light Pollution are a band from DeKalb, Illinois
