Trial by Laughter a show with seven comedians competing for the approval of fellow comedians, audience members, and fans on the web, all while vying for cash prizes and media exposure comes to Comix February 26th and March 25th. Seven acts, known as "defendants," perform five minute sets. Industrial pioneers Ministry hit the road for what will be their last world tour in support their final studio release, 'The Last Sucker.' Al Jourgensen and Paul Barker formed Ministry in 1979 as a post-punk dance unit playing fast, aggressive music in the style of British New Wavers Wire, Killing Joke and the Slits. Over the course of eleven albums and over a dozen tours, Jourgensen, Barker and the rest of the band have left scars on musical genres ranging from dance to alternative to industrial to metal. Ministry continued to write new chapters in the handbook of sonic devastation with the 2003 album 'Animositisomina,' 2004's 'Houses of the Mole' and 2006' 'Rio Grande Blood.' Al Jourgensen has also recorded and performed under other such side project names as Revolting Cocks and 1000 Homo DJ's.

DEAF PERFORMERS BRING “ASL IN THE RAW” TO COMIX Deaf entertainers share adult humor in American Sign Language. New York, NY – Hosts Jason Norman and Doug Ridloff break ground for the Deaf community by blending skits, character sketches, storytelling, and guest stars in their production of ASL in the Raw at Comix on November 21st and 23rd at 8:00 PM. Performed in American Sign Language (“ASL”), there will be an interpreter provided for the hearing and a post-show DJ to spin the good vibrations. WED, NOV 21st @ 8:00 PM FRI, NOV 23rd @ 8:00 PM Comix 353 West 14th Street New York, NY 10014 Tickets are $15 plus two item minimum in the showroom and can be purchased online at www.comixny.com or by calling 212.524.2500. ABOUT THE PERFORMERS Jason Norman is a D.C. native and a NYC convert bringing you the raw and naughty flavors of both worlds. For over three years, Jason has hosted the monthly ASL Poetry and Storytelling at the Bowery Poetry Club. For far too long, American Sign Language on the stage has been “clean and safe.” Inspired by classic comedians like Richard Pryor, Eddie Murphy, and Andrew Dice Clay, Jason realized it was time to penetrate the boundaries of ASL and get down and dirty. Doug Ridloff is a nice Jewish boy gone blue. Born and raised in Queens, Doug’s early dirty encounters involved only the soil and grass in his backyard. After earning a B.A. in Physical Education and a M.A. in Special Education, he saw the world and some more dirt in Central America, Europe, and Asia. Doug saw that there was a universal sense of humor: body language and gestures about sex. He began a new collection of “blue” jokes and stories to shake up the Deaf community. About Liquid Swords: Though the album was credited to GZA alone, there are numerous guest appearances from the entire Wu-Tang Clan, like all their earlier solo albums. Liquid Swords is characteristic of the Wu-Tang Clan in its minimalist, menacing and ominous beats by producer RZA, and its cinematic themes relating to Asian cinema, particularly Samurai cinema. GZA also covers many of his other themes as well, such as chess, crime etc. The album begins with a monologue from a little boy; his monologue, and many of the other skits scattered throughout the album, are from the cult film Shogun Assassin. These samples, along with eerie beats gives Liquid Swords a distinctive, creepy, unsettling sound, proving influential to many subsequent East Coast hip hop artists. text GZA1 to 467467 to get your tickets VIA ShopText or click http://knittingfactory.com/show.php?event_id=108682 for ticketweb info
