Agile software development methods are too often tagged as “architecturally weak” or “disconnected from the realities of delivering large systems.” However, many leading software architects are pushing through the noise to rapidly evolve the Agile architecture discipline. This free two-hour seminar will focus on the experiences of two experts and the approaches they have taken to better align businesses with architecture goals. Chris Sterling, Managing Consultant from SolutionsIQ, will discuss emerging design techniques, business-driven architecture decision-making and enterprise architecture planning. Joining Sterling is enterprise software architect, Kevin DeKay, of Bellevue-based Symetra Financial. DeKay will comment on his own experiences implementing architecture within a large enterprise IT environment moving to Agile at Symetra Financial. Participants will leave with a deeper understanding of how they can effectively address the enterprise in their own endeavors. When: Thursday, January 17th, 5 to 7 p.m. Where: The Seattle Public Library Wright & Ketcham Room, 4th Floor 1000 Fourth Ave., Seattle, WA 98104-1109 Fee: Complimentary; see below for registration.
