Co-presented with The Council of the Library Foundation and sponsored by City National Bank with additional support from KPMG LLP. Michael Chabon received his M.F.A. in Creative Writing at U.C. Irvine. His first novel, The Mysteries of Pittsburgh, originally written for his master's thesis, became a national bestseller. Chabon's second novel, Wonder Boys, was also a bestseller, and was made into a critically-acclaimed film. His third novel, The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay, was awarded the Pulitzer Prize among other honors. Chabon is also the author of two collections of short stories, A Model World and Other Stories and Werewolves In Their Youth, as well as a young adult novel, Summerland. He's written numerous articles and essays, as well as a number of screenplays and teleplays.
