Modern jazz + Metal = Alex Skolnick Trio Alex Skolnick: Guitar, Matt Zebroski: drums, Nathan Peck: double-bass Aged 16, Skolnick became the lead guitarist for platinum-selling San Fransisco based speed metal group Testament (Megaforce/Atlantic) and became well known and highly respected in the metal world for his virtuosic solos. After seven years he left the band and later moved to New York City where he soaked up the jazz scene and studied with legendary musicians at New School University, earning a music degree. It was during this time that he hooked up with a fiery young rhythm section that would propel him to new levels of playing and a new phase of his career. Matt Zebroski on drums and Nathan Peck on double-bass round out the trio, each providing technical mastery balanced with a mature sense of musicianship and a unique identity on their respective instruments.
