This guitar slingin', prop flingin', super nerd of a comedian brings his original songs and way out notions to the Comedy Showcase stage this week - and we can't wait. He molds a strange blend of oddly sophisticated yet somewhat silly material into a show that proves to be infectious with laughter. His smooth delivery coupled with a slightly unhinged sense of humor that always leaves 'em wanting more, Steve is a comic in demand. His passive-aggressive style keeps the audience off balance and on their toes, while his thought provoking comedy keeps 'em laughing. Take a reality break and treat yourself to a ton of fun this weekend with Steve Bills. Showtimes: 8:00 & 10:30 pm Tickets: $8 in advance, $10 at the door

Join us for a lively progression featuring the results of the Alarming Usability event held last month at the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum. After refreshments and networking, the new chapter president, Mike Beasley, will briefly describe the event and reflect upon the unique challenges of usability testing in a public place. Then, be part of the fun as we move table-to-table for a detailed look at the five alarm clocks that we tested. We’ll share each clock’s test results, swap alarm clock tales, and examine the clock’s design. Bring your best (and worst!) alarm clock stories (heck, bring the alarm clock, too!) for this fun and interactive meeting.

Every Saturday morning, people from the Grex online community gather for a 75-90 minute walk, followed by lunch at a local eatery. Not all walkers are Grex users; we have regular attendance from friends, children, and pets. Sometimes complete strangers join us as well. Anybody is welcome. See the "Grexwalk Lunch" event for the location of this week's lunch. On every Saturday EXCEPT the first Saturday of each month, the walk is at Gallup Park. Meet by the parking lot near the Fuller Road entrance. On first Saturdays, we walk at Bird Hills Park.

Tim Slagle is a political satirist with a penchant for the controversial and has spent twenty-five years touring the biker bars, bowling alleys, and comedy clubs of America; making a living telling jokes to the proletariat. Actually, the only dogmas that Tim clings to, are the inalienable rights outlined in the first ten Amendments to the Constitution, otherwise known as the Bill of Rights. (Especially the right of Free Speech.) Fascist governments have never acknowledged the existence of these rights. Tim deals more with political concepts than politicians. Things that touch our everyday life like warning labels and vegetarian frozen dinners, have political implications, but are not necessarily thought of as political. How can one man make the mundane hilarious and at the same time make you think? Check out Tim this week at the Comedy Showcase. Showtime: 8:00 pm Tickets: $7 in advance, $9 at the door

Veteran peacemaker Rudy Simons shares his reflections from his journey to Iran with a Fellowship of Reconciliation peace delegation. He reports that, "A brighter future for the entire world demands that 'The Great Satan' and the 'Axis of Evil' build a new and friendlier relationship with each other after 28 years of hostility and mutual isolation. War is not the answer. Let's have a discussion about how we can reduce the threat of armed conflict and create possibilities for a new opening between our two nations."
