Carbon/Silicon features punk veterans Mick Jones (The Clash, Big Audio Dynamite) and Tony James (Generation X, Sigue Sigue Sputnik). The project started several years ago when Jones and James began recording music and putting it out via their Web site on a monthly basis. The digital-only EPs and albums became popular enough that by 2004, the partnership grew to a full band. The lineup was settled in 2006 when Jones and James were joined by Leo !E-zee-Kill' Williams (Big Audio Dynamite, Dreadzone) on bass guitar and Dominic Greensmith (Reef) on drums. Their debut album is 'The Last Post.'

Subtle are a sextet from Oakland, blending metal undertones with hip-hop and more. Based in Pittsburgh, Black Moth Super Rainbow has been around since 2002 and features an all analog sound, something like happy fuzzy pop and extremely psychedelic Krautrock. The songs are written from a folk perspective so the music never feels overly electronic and never sterile.
