Jimmy Dore-Pop & Politics

If you are not familiar with Jimmy, let's just say he has been around. He has appeared on every major television network multiple times, been invited to the most prestigious comedy festivals in the world, appeared in the Off Broadway hit "The Marijuana-logues," has his own 1/2 hour Comedy Central Special currently airing, and is gearing up for a one hour comedy special of his own on Comedy Central in December of this year. Jimmy has stayed on the cutting edge with his one of a kind mix of stand-up and video in his new show "Pop & Politics." It has garnered rave reviews and plays to packed houses across the country, even the red states! He has appeared on Comedy Central's "Make Me Laugh," HBO's "Just For Laughs International Comedy Festival," and NBC's "Friday Night," making five return appearances. From there Jimmy has gone on to make multiple stand-out appearances on "The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn," twice on NBC's "Late Friday," and on Comedy Centrals "Premium Blend." He's done a bunch of other stuff including hosting pilot's for Comedy Central and AMC. Jimmy is one of the comics that caught our eye several years ago as one of the stars of the future and his time has come. He is truly one of our favorite performers at the Comedy Showcase. FREER Record Release Party w/THE GO

Where: Blind Pig

Date: 2007-05-17 20:00:00

Type:

Sinister Foxy Presents: THE GO FREER QUESTIONS SIDDHARTHA FREER celebrate the release of their highly anticipated first LP, "Secret Chorus." Bootleg copies have already found their way into the hands of Detroit's most notable music veterans, leading to the common conclusion that Detroit won't be able contain this band for long. Matt DuFour of Tripwire.com describes the title track as "a dark and brooding, nine-minute rock & roll epic that is one of the best songs I've heard all year." We agree. Also don't miss Detroit favorites The GO, Siddhartha and QUESTIONS. www.myspace.com/thegodetroit www.myspace.com/freerdom www.myspace.com/thequestions www.myspace.com/siddharthamusic
