Flamingo Gardens Benefit Flea market will be held on Sat, May 19 from 9 am to 2 pm with just about everything including new merchandise, jewelry, crafts, collectibles, antiques and yard sale goods. Stop at the Flamingo Gardens tent for bargains marked down to as little as 10 cents on the retail dollar. Admission to the flea market is $2 for ages 12 and up (admission to Flamingo Gardens not included). Parking is free. For the first time, David Posnack Jewish Community Center will celebrate Jewish American Heritage Month with three special events in May. At the first of three scheduled events, the Steven Spielberg animated fable, "An American Tail," will be screened. This humorous film is suitable for the entire family. Cost is $5 for an adult and includes two free child admissions or $10 for families of four or more.

The Scottish American Society Of South Florida (SASSF) is hosting a fall ceilidh event in conjunction with this performance. Tickets purchased in advance for the performance above from SASSF at the price of $35.00 for non-members and $30.00 for members will include preferred seating and a pass for admission into the Ceilidh which is to be held immediately following the Battlefield Band performance and you do not have to travel. The Ceilidh will also be held at the Broward Center For The Performing Arts in a private room. The 4th of July Bazaar, on Wednesday from 9:30-4:30 is an intimate outdoor boutique held under 150 year old live oaks featuring jewelry, art, photography, crafts, gifts and more. Children receive free flag visors while supplies last. There's lots included in garden admission from 9:30-4:30. You get $5 off ages 12 and up and $3 off for children 4-11 (no other discounts may apply to the reduced admission of $12 and $5.50). Children under 4 are free. In honor of the 4th, visit the bald eagles, see a live Wildlife Encounter Show at 12:30, 1:30 or 2:30 at the free-flight aviary with more than 40 species of native birds, and all the animal exhibits with panthers, bobcats, otters, alligators and tortoises. Enjoy the splendor of the 60-acre botanical gardens, and tour historic 1930s Wray Home open from 10-4. The tour by tram is additional. Food and ice cold beverages are available.
