Where: Somerville Theater

Date: 2007-04-27 22:00:00

I wanted to highlight our upcoming screenings at the IFFBoston festival of MONSTER CAMP: the true story of NERO Seattle. Our film is about the Seattle chapter of the New England Roleplaying Organization, a group that, in short, dresses up and plays dungeons and dragons once a month in a state park. It's funny but also provides a lot of insight into escapism in general. We're fresh off our world premiere at Cinequest (San Jose) a couple weeks ago and were delighted to win the Audience Award for Best Feature Documentary. We are excited that we were invited to screen at IFFB! Our screening times in Boston are: Friday April 27 10pm Somerville Theatre in Davis Square (150 seats) Sunday April 29 5:45pm Somerville Theatre in Davis Square (200 seats) Tickets go on sale April 4th at www.iffboston.org The homepage for the documentary is www.monstercampmovie.com We also have a myspace page, with a special video featuring clips from the opening night world premiere and the San Jose chapter Live-Action-Roleplayers who attended. It's fun! www.myspace.com/monstercampmovie

The Coolidge Corner Theatre presents Alfred Hitchcock's classic psychological thriller VERTIGO as part of its acclaimed "Science on Screen" series. Catherine Kimble, MD, a professor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, will introduce the film with a special presentation on the realities of vertigo and anxiety. VERTIGO is frequently listed among the best films ever made. During a rooftop chase, police detective John "Scottie" Ferguson (James Stewart) is grossly overcome by his acrophobia (a deep fear of falling) which ultimately brings about the death of a fellow officer. After Scottie retires from the police force, his life takes another unusual turn when an old school acquaintance asks him to shadow his wife, Madeleine (Kim Novak), a woman obsessed with death. When Scottie's vertigo prevents him from saving Madeleine's life, his one chance at perfect love comes crashing to a halt. Admission: $9.75 general or $7.75 for students, seniors, and Museum of Science members. Free to members of the Coolidge Corner Theatre. Tickets available at the box office or on-line at www.coolidge.org/science.
