The sweet smell of success is already familiar to California-based ALO. Now, the rapturous quartet is ready to bring it’s joyful musical message to a larger audience worldwide. Roses & Clover is the anticipated follow-up to the band’s acclaimed 2006 Brushfire release, Fly Between Falls. Bursting with sun-drenched melodies, ALO’s latest covers a wide range of musical territory; from the reggae-tinged “Try” to the Ukulele-led funk workout “Plastic Bubble.” Over the past two years, ALO have greatly expanded their fan base via constant touring and phenomenal word-of-mouth. Even Dave Matthews took notice of the funky foursome last year—asking the band to open up for DMB for several shows, including a special cruise ship concert. In addition, ALO toured Europe for the first time in 2006 with labelmate Jack Johnson.

In a city rich with historical significance, many mysteries and undiscovered stories wait to be discovered as the Parks & People Foundation celebrates the launch of the Great Gwynns Falls Trail Hunt on Saturday, June 2 at Winans Meadow. Coinciding with Art on the Trail, also a Parks & People sponsored program, the Great Gwynns Falls Trail Hunt is a “scavenger hunt” contest in which participants will help uncover Baltimore’s past while enjoying the natural setting of the Gwynns Falls Trail. Using a map and provided questions, visitors can read the interpretative historical panels along the entire Trail and participate in a hunt to win exciting prizes, including a new bike. Participants can acquire the map and questions for the Hunt by visiting www.gwynnsfallstrail.org. The Great Gwynns Falls Trail Hunt is free of charge and anyone can participate. The contest runs throughout the summer and all entries are due by August 24, 2007 to kate.mack@gwynnsfallstrail.org. Contest winners will be announced at the closing ceremonies for Art on the Trail on September 2.
