The Philadelphia based group, The Roots, showed the way for live rap, building on Stetsasonic's "hip-hop band" philosophy of the mid-'80s, by focusing on live instrumentation at their concerts and in the studio. Although their album work has been inconsistent, more intent on building grooves than pushing songs, The Roots' live shows are among the best in the business. A long time force in the hip-hop genre, Kane's lyrical boasts are the stuff of legend.

Lloyd Peterson, former Director of Admissions for Yale University and current Vice President of Education for College Coach, will offer a dynamic presentation on "Beating the College Admissions Game." Mr. Peterson will share the secrets of success for getting through the college admissions process, including how to maximize the high school experience, select the right colleges, and put together standout applications. Following the presentation, students and families can have their individual questions answered through the College Coach "Help Desk," staffed by former senior admissions officers from the nation's top colleges. This service is open to Worcester students in the 9th-12th grades and their families, and will be held in the Hebert Auditorium at Quinsigamond Community College.
