The Urban Assault Ride™ is funky bike scavenger hunt that involves street-smart riding, obstacle courses, and a huge after party. Mental muscle is just as important as bike skills as teams of 2 choose their own course to checkpoints around the city. The event is well known for its checkpoints where physical and mental obstacle courses must be completed before moving on. Kinda like American Gladiators with a demented cycling twist. The first team to hit all of the checkpoint and cross the finish line wins! Then the party begins with FREE BEER and lots more two-wheeled shenanigans! It is THE MOST FUN you will ever have on a bike. FORT COLLINS CO: Sunday July 20th Despite the epic conditions of last year's event, everybody had a blast and managed to finish off all of the beer - and about 100 Rio margaritas - just for fun! This year - we promise you much better weather due to the July date. We love the Rio Grande and their FtC restaurant serves as a great venue. It's also nice to be in the hometown of New Belgium, so you know the beer will be flowing and the event is going to be big! Packet Pickup: Rio Grande: 143 W. Mountain Ave., Friday 9/18, 5pm-8pm Start/Finish: Rio Grande: 143 W. Mountain Ave.9:00am Off-Limit Streets: (These streets can be crossed but not ridden. Bike lanes on these streets are permitted.) * College Ave. * There is an ordiance about "racing" on Ft Collins bike trails. If you do ride these trails, be VERY cautious of other pedestrians and cyclists also using the trails. You can use any means necessary to find the next mystery checkpoint (call a friend, ask somebody on the street, use the internet). There will be 3 Mystery Checkpoints total.
