Songwriter and singer, Joey DeGraw, grew up surrounded by music. His dad bent towards rock and roll and his extended family jamming country style around a fire pit. He began to play guitar at the age of five and piano at the age of eight. He began writing privately, furiously, and passionately in his teens. He later played in cover bands with his younger brother, recording artist Gavin DeGraw. Curtis Peoples is a singer/songwriter with more of a rock/pop mentality than most acoustic artists in his category. Keaton Simmons is a young and gifted singer/songwriter. His voice is described as having a "lived-in quality that will echo in your mind and heart for years to come."

Dubconscious

Where: Roxy Theater

Date: 2008-05-24 21:00:00

Dubconscious takes the universally loved sound of reggae and modifies it toward progressive goodness that bends the knees and broaden the listener's idea of modern music. Few current reggae acts bring such a wide spectrum of music lovers. The music is unoffensive and widely played in local bars and restaurants. They have opened and played alongside established greats such as Burning Spear, The Slip, The Wailers, Steel Pulse, Culture, The Meditations and Robert Walter's 20th Congress. In their hometown of Athens Georgia, Dubconscious is part of a large and growing community of amazing musicians that feed off of each others music, wisdom and friendship.
