The Maricopa County LP is going to host a forum on ranked choice voting (RCV) in which we are looking into the possibility of spearheading an effort to run an RCV initiative in a city in Maricopa County. If you do attend, please call 602-248-8425 to RSVP. Ranked choice voting is quietly being enacted in municipalities nationwide and, if implemented, it would make it easier to elect Libertarians and other third party candidates to office. The MCLP would welcome anyone who wants to participate in this forum by offering ideas, suggestions and a willingness to assist in some manner to make enacting this voting method in Arizona a reality. For a demonstration on ranked choice voting (a.k.a. instant runoff voting), please visit http://www.instantrunoff.com. For information on which municipalities now use ranked choice voting for their elections, please visit the Center for Voting and Democracy's website: http://www.fairvote.org. NOTE: Please be aware that I promised the manager of China Village that everyone would buy something to eat in order for our group to use their banquet room for our meetings. His deal is: "each person buys something to eat or the group pays a $10 charge."
