House of Sweden is hosting a performance by Sofia Jannok. Coming from the north of Sweden, Sofia writes most of her lyrics in Sami, her native language, mixing jazz, pop and yoik influences. In case you're wondering, yoik is a traditional Sami form of song that's very hard to describe in just a few words, except maybe as chanting. The show starts at 7:30 PM with doors at 6:45 PM. Tickets are $10 at the door, and you can reserve a seat by e-mailing houseofsweden@foreign.ministry.se.

Cold War Kids make songs about human experience in orchards and hotel rooms, laundromats and churches, sea ports and school halls. Using songs of Dylan, Billie Holiday and the Velvet Underground as a road map, they strive to manipulate, structure and style their music with honesty. They're cushioned with bumbling, pillow fight bass lines, crashing open hi-hat and good humored keyboards. This is the sound of Tokyo Police Club.
